CiCi, the Zen Master
Feeling a little harried after all the holiday festivities? Do yourself a favor for 2011 by adding a calming influence to your life. CiCi recently gave birth, and her puppy found a home. But this beautiful dog still has the mothering instinct, because her calm and gracious demeanor soothes everyone around her. Celebrate the new year by giving this gentle dog the loving home she deserves. CiCi is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of December 27, 2010.

Christmas Eve
All the stockings were hung by the kennels with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
It's Christmas Eve!
Joyce Ross and the entire Rockwall Animal Services team wish you a very merry Christmas. As a reminder, the shelter - and Find-a-Friend Fridays at the Rockwall Petco - are closed today for the holiday weekend. A special shout-out goes to Juan Hernandez, who's working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to take care of the shelter pets.

Clyde is ready for the holidays
Does Clyde look familiar? He and his sister Bonnie walked alongside the Rockwall Animal Services float during the Christmas parade. Bonnie was adopted two weeks ago, leaving Clyde alone at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center. Since he's friendly, handsome and intelligent, you simply won't find a more perfect holiday companion. He's your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of December 20, 2010.

Have you seen your Rita?

A rather large lap dog
Don't be fooled by that smiling face. Ringo may be a large dog - he's a mix of Australian shepherd and German shepherd - but he thinks he's a lap dog. This friendly two-year-old likes nothing better than to snuggle up for some well-deserved attention. He'll let you know when he's had enough, which won't be anytime soon. Ringo is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of December 13, 2010.
Pongo starts the week off right
What a way to start the week! The shelter was open for about two minutes this morning before Pongo - last week's Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet of the Week - was adopted.

Pongo can fly!
All of the other reindeer may have prevented Rudolph from joining their games, but Pongo has an open invitation. That's because this friendly pointer mix can romp with the best of them. Don't tell the reindeer, but Pongo is a lot smarter than them as well. He may not have a red nose, but Pongo is sure to make your holiday season bright. He's your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of December 6, 2010.

Give a gift of love this holiday season
Rockwall Petco employee Kayla Canavier (center) joins Rockwall animal shelter volunteers Pam Kitkoski (with Jake) and Barbara Seed (holding Sandy) to celebrate the ongoing success of the Tree of Hope. Petco shoppers have been making holiday donations to the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center through the Tree of Hope program. The Rockwall Petco has already raised nearly half of its $4000 goal. More information is available on the Rockwall Pets web site.
Sandy can't figure it out
This little chihuahua-mix has it all. She's cute, sweet, even-tempered, playful and loving. Yet she's been at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center for over a month. She's ready to be the perfect lap warmer for the holiday season. Sandy is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of November 29, 2010.

Corey
Corey is a unique dog. He's a border collie/corgi mix who's very outgoing and playful. At a glance, he looks like a border collie with very short legs. Although he has the short stature of a corgi, Corey has all the intelligence you'd expect from a border collie. Make this holiday season one to remember by adopting this unique dog from the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center. He's your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of November 22, 2010.
Kali goes home
We're off to a great week! Kali, last week's Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet of the Week, was just adopted! Thanks again, Rockwall.

Meet Archie the Wonder Dog
This is a miracle dog. Archie was found in pitiful shape about two months ago. Scarred, starving and scared, this lab mix could have been classified a cruelty case. Now he's filling out, happily greeting strangers and romping around the yard. Archie knows what it's like to be abused. Now he's ready to live the good life with you and your family. Archie is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of November 8, 2010.

Matt and Amy Urbanus and their family are obviously glad they adopted Maggie at the Rockwall Petco on Saturday! Rambo and Homer are also on their way to their new homes. Thank you again, Rockwall! Rock on!
Morticia is haunting your dreams
This long-haired black cat could be a Ghostbuster, because she obviously "ain't afraid of no ghosts." Morticia's trick is blending her good looks with a scary Halloween display. Her treat is knowing she would look even better cuddling in your lap. Your face will light up like a jack-o-lantern when you see this anything-but-scary cat at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center.

Trixie is a tough one
Trixie is one tough dog. She ended up at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center after her rear legs were crushed, probably after she was hit by a car. She's alive today due to the nurturing and care of the staff at Rockwall Animal Services. They nursed Trixie back to health, so now this resilient lady is looking for a home. This playful shepherd mix has earned her second chance. She's your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of October 18, 2010.
Trixie is also living proof that Rockwall Animal Services is one of the best departments of its type in America. Animal Services spent weeks caring for Trixie before she was well enough to be put up for adoption. Animal Services cared for Jenny the cat for six months before she was adopted earlier this month. The stories are endless.
Suffice it to say that Rockwall Animal Services works extremely hard to find these dogs and cats new homes. They'll do whatever it takes until the shelter pet - and its new family - has a happy ending.
That's dedication. That's excellence.

Rambo is ready to rumble
The name brings to mind a rugged hero who's unafraid of danger. This Rambo may be tough, but he's really just a big baby. He's a one-year-old Anatolian shepherd mix who's big and strong, but loves to play with children and other dogs. If you like your heroic males a little on the soft side, Rambo is your dog. He's your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of October 11, 2010.

Take two for Ace
Yes, Ace may look familiar. Through an unfortunate set of circumstances, none of which were his fault, the little terrier mix has returned to the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center. He's participated in some off-site adoption events, including Find-a-Friend Fridays at the Rockwall Petco, so he knows how to behave in public. Give the little guy the happy ending he deserves by taking him home today!
Ace is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of October 4, 2010. Find out more about him at http://rockwallpets.com.

Diamond
Those eyes! At first glance, Diamond may look like your typical one-year-old black lab. But those big round eyes can thaw even the coldest of hearts. Diamond has been featured at some recent Rockwall Parks Department events, so she's obviously well-mannered around people and children. Feel your heart melt when you look into those eyes at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center. Diamond is your Rockwall Adoptable Shelter Pet for the week of September 27, 2010.
